A Roseate Spoonbill landing in the midst of a wonderful foggy wonderland filled with some of Sanibel Island's most beautiful winter residents.

I was out at Ding Darling with my husband and son, they were fishing and I was shooting photographs. With the gray sky and the storage on my cameras approaching overload, I had really had enough for the day and was remembering why I don't usually go out taking pictures with guys going fishing. Then the scene changed. An amazing fog rolled in and the sun was desperately trying to peek through. Roseate spoonbills were flying in one by one to a scene that was muted and monotone. The contrast of the pink and the soft shades of grey, the graceful movements and sounds are still etched in my memory.
